Dreamstreet was initially developed under the auspices of YAI and was aided in its development by 8 years of funding from the Joseph LeRoy and Anne C.Warner Fund. Dreamstreet is currently transitioning away from the stewardship of YAI and the extraordinary leadership of its late founder and director, Karuna Heisler, who died suddenly in June 2007.
Current support comes from foundations, corporations, individual donations and events. Rehearsal space is donated by the Berkley Carroll School. During this transition period, we intend to mount at least four major performances and six minor performances/workshops per year and to continue our twice-weekly rehearsal/workshop schedule. We are also seeking major funding to expand our services and realize our vision of a world in which the public and private perception of ability is transformed through the full inclusion of differently-abled individuals in the arts and in the community.
Dreamstreet thanks our major 2008 supporters!
