What We Do

PERFORM
The Dreamstreet Theater Company is a professionally directed collaboration of actors, dancers and singers with developmental disabilities who create community theatrical performances together with students, volunteers and established artists. Dreamstreet has brought together those who would never ordinarily meet, providing the opportunity for artists with and without disabilities to create together, teach each other and to manifest shared dreams.

WORKSHOP
In addition to our professional faculty, Dreamstreet Inc. invites community artists, volunteers and cast members of the theater company to lead creative workshops. These leaders appreciate that children and young adults with developmental disabilities, are different learners and different thinkers, and offer them a chance to participate in creative activities where each person’s potential for self-expression is kindled and tended. As capacity grows, so does self esteem, and the courage to reach toward bigger dreams. As the participants’ confidence and experience increase, many will be ready to serve as role models and inspire others.

CONSULT
The director, faculty, crew and cast of Dreamstreet work with schools, camps, organizations and parents of people with disabilities to present, demonstrate and teach the Dreamstreet approach.
